Newland House

a city centre refurbishment

Newland House

Newlands House

The larger of two large office towers, the 60,000 sqft Newland House was purchased unconditionally by Mabec in Nottingham’s main business area.

The prominent building fronts Maid Marian Way and has panoramic view over the City.

Mabec obtained planning consent to reclad the facade and convert the building into 224  student studios.  The former EON offices had been vacant for a number of year.  The redevelopment works have been undertaken without the assistance of bank funding and completed in time to deliver quality accommodation to the 2016 academic year. .

As with Newtown House nearby, the large double bedded rooms offer students of Nottinghams two highly regarded Universities, all the facilities the self sufficient student requires, including ensuite and generous study, kitchen and storage areas.

Each floor has a communal room, with separate TV and laundry rooms throughout the building.  These localised feature support the larger communal facilities offered on the lower floors, including gym, cinema room and break out lounges.  As with Newtown House, all available studios in the building were effectively fully let by the start of the academic year.

After the first successful year of operation, both buildings have now been sold to IQ Student Accommodation.
